The Trouble with Deciding...

Good advice for anyone..if you can't decide whether you want to be a fireman, a cowboy, or a pirate for the day...just wear all 3 hats and walk around saying "Arghhh" (pirate speak) and "Weee oww, Weee oww" (that's what fire trucks do) all day. It's sure to make you smile!

The New Amphibious Model Cozy Coupe

I am always entertained by the ideas my son comes up with, but today he made me laugh out loud once again. We were trying out the new swimming pool at Grammy's house (well, new to Bennett anyways!) and he decided that the Cozy Coupe car needed to be driven into the water. Mind you, he got that car in there pretty much by himself. So we now have the new amphibious model of Cozy Coupe...works as well in water as on land. I'm pretty sure that the instruction manual doesn't mention this!

Mowing some lawns

So I had to share this story....I take Bennett to my mom's house today and he decides he will be the industrious toddler that he is and take the opportunity to mow my mom's lawn (not really, but he thought he was!) I said "Bennett, in about 10 years you will be mowing that lawn for real." To which my mom said so sweetly, "Yes, Grammy will pay you to mow her lawn for her." Now, hold on a minute. I replied "Wait a minute..you never paid me to mow the lawn when I was a kid!". To which she said..."Well, you weren't my cute adorable grandchild now were you?" :o) And so it goes....

Summer Days

This was one of my favorite pics from the summer. Bennett was "helping" Daddy and Grandpa put up our new shed in the backyard on Father's Day. It was one of the hottest days of summer - over 100 degrees so he was very hot, hence the red cheeks. I just love that face though!

Santa Monica Pier

Today was a perfect day to head out towards Santa Monica. The weather was gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous at 77 degrees. What a pretty day. Bennett, Grammy, and I drove PCH down there and spent part of the day on the pier and then ate lunch at Michael Landon Park up PCH aways. Fun day!

Lake Arrowhead

Dan had a LAN party this weekend, so being as that I need to vacate the house for 12 hours anyways, I decided to head up the mountain to Lake Arrowhead for the weekend and give the boys their time to play to their hearts content at the LAN party. Grammy, Auntie Cheryl, Riley (Cheryl's doggie), Bennett and I spent the weekend hanging out at Lake Arrowhead. Bennett got to swim in a big swimming pool for the first time and loved it. We ventured over to the village on Friday nite for the Farmer's Market and rode the carousel. Did lots of fun stuff and Bennett was so sad to have to come home.

Bennett on the carousel.
Even Grammy rode the carousel.
Is this thing real?
Bennett playing around in of all things Riley's dog carrier. At one point both he and Riley were in there together!
Bennett chasing Riley around the condo. (Pretty much what he did for the entire weekend that we were there. Riley was very tired at the end of the weekend from fending off the resident 2 year old!)

Science Geeks

Bennett and I went to visit Daddy for lunch one day at his work. Just so happens that Dan works across the street from the Californa Science Center. We ate lunch at Bennett's favorite restaurant...Mickey D's, then went off to play at the fun science exhibits. Bennett didn't get alot of the concepts from a scientific point of view, but this was like a button pushing mekka for him! He loved playing there, plus getting to see Daddy in the middle of a work day was awesome.
Daddy playing with Bennett and helping him up to push more "tonns" (buttons to you and me.)

Sam the Soccer Star

Sam is playing soccer this summer for the first time. Dan and Bennett and I made it to one of his Thursday night games. He really seems to have fun playing. He played goalie for the first half and did a great job. There is something so hilarious about watching 5 year olds play soccer. They all run around in a big pack following the ball like a tornado around the ball. Of course they don't officially keep score (but I'm pretty sure that Sam's team won!) Too cute. Go Sam! Bend it like Beckham. :o)
Sam in his cool soccer uniform getting ready to play. Sam with his goalie jersey on. Sam getting some coaching advice from Amanda and of course Bennett. Grandpa is watching from the sidelines too.
Grandpa giving Bennett a birdseye view of the soccer game from the sidelines.

Through the Looking Glass

Do you know how much fun you can have with a magnifying glass at Grammy's house? I spy ...Bennett with a squished pig nose! :o)

Kidspace Museum

I was determined this summer to take Bennett somewhere fun at least once a week (and try to figure out how to do it inexpensively), so I signed up for a field trip class for toddlers at a local community school. The first outing was the Kidspace Museum this week. Bennett just loved it. They have so much for little guys to explore and climb on. It is really cool for all kids. They have a museum with hands on exhibits, and an outdoor water area where trust me...they get wet...and so do the adults! Fun place!
Bennett learning earthquake preparedness by learning how to strap down items in your house so they don't move if the earth moves.
Learning how rain causes erosion in mountain sides. For Bennett it was more about water and how he could wash his matchbox cars the best way! So far I don't think he has gone anywhere without taking a car along with him. :o)
Bennett trudging through the outdoor stream and kicking up some water.
Havin' fun in the water.
Video of Bennett straping stuff down in case of earthquake. Really just a bunch of magnets with wires on them..but the kids get the point.

Video of my crazy son playing in the water feature that shoots water up through the grills. He was on hands and knees trying to catch the shooting water with his hands oh and also his mouth!
